Academy of Creative Training -
ACT
8 - 10 Rock Place Kemp Town, Brighton
The Academy of Creative Training is a centre of artistic
creativity, based in Brighton, England, with a unique
approach to providing fully-rounded foundation and vocational
courses for people who are interested in self-development
and the dramatic arts. The Creation of ACT came about
when a group of producers, directors, writers and agents,
who regularly meet to discuss future projects for Theatre,
TV and Films, found themselves discussing the fact that
raw creative talent in Britain lay undiscovered and
undeveloped. Existing institutions failed to place sufficient
emphasis on TV and Film technique, or on the individuality
of the performer.

BROS
Musical Productions
Bognor Regis, West Sussex, 01243 587825
BROS Musical Productions is an amateur company based
primarily at the The Alexandra Theatre, Bognor Regis,
West Sussex. The society was formed in 1925, then known
as Bognor Regis Operatic and Dramatic Society, with
the first production being King Constant. A name change
during the first half of the 20th Century meant that
the company became Bognor Regis Operatic Society. With
the dawn of the new millennium, and the passing of any
opera or operetta being performed by the company, the
name has changed once more. We have been affectionately
called BROS for some years, and now with the addition
of two words, 'Musical' and 'Productions' to the four
letter acronym, we start this 21st Century as BROS Musical
Productions.

The Rude Mechanical Theatre Company
Maywood 57 Brassey Avenue, Eastbourne, 01323 501260
Our acting style uses large comic and often acrobatic
movement and physical jokes called lazzi and burli,
much of it part of a tradition which is hundreds of
years old, but using Pierrot style white faces rather
than masks and brightly coloured vibrant 'cartoon-ised'
costumes. We literally use the slapstick or battoccio,
but our work is not 'merely slapstick'. Poetic solutions
to storytelling are never far away and through mime,
'sound texturing' and devices of our own we are constantly
looking to exploit the poetic, fantastic and absurd.
Nor do we regard ourselves as a 'heritage' company -
neither English nor Italian. We use tools from the tradition
as and when we see fit to produce new work. Fava calls
this use of tradition to create contemporary work commedia
parodia. That's what we do.
